Orphaned non-free media (Image:TTU CoA c4C.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TTU CoA c4C.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:28, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:WikiProject Texas Tech University/Sandbox

edit

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Template:WikiProject Texas Tech University/Sandbox|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. MarkRomero (talk) 01:59, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

ASU Photos

I noticed that, I have a new computer and no longer have them on my HD but think I remember what used to be there mostly, will go by and retake the ones I remember putting up sometime this weekend if time permits. Any help with copyright info would be appreciated, I can do basic edits fine, but not real familiar with alot of wiki rules and regulations. If your familiar with the campus and have any requests let me know--ASUPhotog —Preceding unsigned comment added by ASUPhotog (talkcontribs) 05:59, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

If there's a special "TTU scarlet" as you claim ([1]) then:
1) You should be citing that in your edit summary -- as I did ([2]) -- with a link of some sort rather than making unverifiable statements ([3]).
2) I'd like to see that information per WP:V (if you can't substantiate, of course, then this becomes a more interesting conversation, but until then I'd prefer to assume that you can).
I await your response. Take care. King of the Arverni (talk) 00:05, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pardon me for not citing it in the edit summary, I did notate why it changed but did not provide a link. [4] is Texas Tech's official identity guidelines. In their identity guidelines they refer to it as TTU Red, however it is traditionally called scarlet. --MarkRomero (talk) 00:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Neat. Thanks for the link. I did check all of the articles for that information beforehand, and didn't see anything referring to "TTU Red". Was I mistaken? If sonot, I think I'll go ahead and add it. --King of the Arverni (talk) 01:48, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe it is in any of the articles, I am not sure where and in which article it belongs. It has been discussed on the talk pages though. --MarkRomero (talk) 13:05, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I see. Well, I wasn't able to get around to it before but I could easily add it under athletics or traditions. It could also go in each of the articles dealing with traditions and/or athletics. Since TTU calls it "TTU Red" and we have a source for that, I'll also change "scarlet", which would imply the hex codes I used, to that term, so as to keep everything verifiable and standardized. Thanks so much for the input! King of the Arverni (talk) 17:05, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Done! King of the Arverni (talk) 18:19, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have started a discussion on this at: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Texas Tech University#"Scarlet" vs "red". Please give your thoughts. Thanks! →Wordbuilder (talk) 16:32, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Big 12 WikiProject

edit

Hi, I've noticed you've been involved in editing Big 12 related articles. I'm trying to gauge the interested in created a Big 12 WikiProject and wondered if you'd like to be involved. There are already pages for WikiProject Big Ten and WikiProject ACC. A Big 12 project would cover the schools themselves and anything to do with conference sports including: events, rivalries, teams, seasons, championships and lore. There is already quite a bit of activity here on Wikipedia regarding the Big 12, and I think a project could help coordinate and unify our efforts. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Big 12 if you are interested, and add your name to the list. Grey Wanderer (talk) 23:43, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Big 12 project cats

edit

I'm not sure what we want to do here, but just to give you a heads up: I orgionally set up the few categories I made, and the project page itself to use Category:WikiProject Big 12 as the main cat (without the Conference part). This is also what all the links to categories on the main project page point to. So if you have no opinion otherwise it would probably be easiest to set up things within that framwork. Otherwise perhaps we can discuss it on the project talk page. Thanks for creating the template by the way! Grey Wanderer (talk) 07:37, 27 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't have an opinion either way, I just started creating the categories with the whole Wikiproject name. I figured it was just an oversight or typo that Conference wasn't included in the members page. I will revert my changes and fix the user box to conform to the framework. --Voltin (talk) 14:59, 27 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
