Message about vandalism

I just got the message "Your recent edit to Imperial Presidency (diff) was reverted by an automated bot. The edit was identified as adding vandalism, or link spam to the page or having an inappropriate edit summary. If you want to experiment, please use the preview button while editing or consider using the sandbox. If this revert was in error, please contact the bot operator. If you made an edit that removed a large amount of content, try doing smaller edits instead. Thanks! // VoABot II (talk) 21:31, 31 January 2008 (UTC)" I didn't even look at that article, so how could I edit it? 71.176.179.105 (talk) 23:03, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Let me try to answer that for VOA: The message was sent to your talk page but you are using a dynamically assigned IP. The message itself is dated 31 January 2008, which means that someone using this IP on that day was subject to the Bot's actions. This is unlikely to have been you and you can safely ignore this message. To avoid such misunderstandings in the future, you might want to consider creating a unique account. Have a nice day. Scripts

Hey, Voice of All. I have a very suitable replacement script for the one currently in the Specialadmin collection; mind if I implement it? —Animum (talk) 02:17, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Fine by me. Aaron Schulz 06:50, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Script question...

...from a new and ignorant user. I added your "Text Replace/quick redirect" script to my monobook.js page, along with the Addtab script. I don't see any way to use the Text Replace feature. I added the Google Searching script as a way of seeing if Addtab was working, and indeed I see a tab for Google search. I don't see a tab for Text Replace, though. Am I missing something? Just so you know the whole story, I'm trying to go through hundreds, maybe thousands, of bird articles and replace "| status = LC" with "| status = LC | status_system = IUCN3.1" in the taxobox. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer. First Light (talk) 22:25, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

In the edit window, to the left, there should be a "text replacer" link. Aaron Schulz 22:37, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, indeed it is. First Light (talk) 22:56, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism on SOAD page

Just thought I'd let you know that revision you reverted about "SOAD sucks" wasn't me. It was a user by the name of 165.166.57.126. I love SOAD, and would never do something like that. Well, anyway. Just thought I'd let you know. FallenWings47 (talk) 11:50, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

monobook.js

Probably a year ago, I copied your monobook.js script into my user page. I really have no idea what I'm doing with this sort of thing, so I've go a few questions: -Do you ever update this script and if so do I need to recopy your script to get the updated version? -I notice when I cut and paste when editing a page, I get giant sized text. Would that have anything to do with this script? -Many months ago, my account was compromised and used to do some semi-significant vandalism. Would using an outdated version of this script potentially make my account vulnerable? Thx ike9898 (talk) 06:21, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Script compatability with the secure server

I recently started using the secure server more often, and I noticed that certain parts of your script at User:Voice of All/History/monobook.js no longer work. Looking at the script's source code, it seems this could be fixed by changing any variables that specify a local URL to use MediaWiki-defined variables such as wgServer and wgScript (rather than explicitly using 'http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php'). Could you please make these changes? Thanks, Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 19:32, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
