Conflict of interest

edit

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Ronz 19:09, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

You have deleted sourced material from Viktor Kožený. Please do not do it again. It may be considered vandalism and you can be prevented from editing that article in the future. If you do not agree with some parts of the article, you can clarify your reasons at Talk:Viktor Kožený. By the way, are you Viktor Kožený? If you are, you should definitely read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Tankred 19:19, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Username

edit

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. As you are obviously aware, your username matches the one of a known living person, Viktor Kožený. Wikipedia policy about usernames (Wikipedia:Username policy) establishes this can be a misleading username (Usernames that match the name of a well-known living or recently deceased person, unless you verifiably are that person, in which case please note this on your user page.). Therefore I ask you that, if you are really Viktor Kožený, please state so in your user page (found at User:Viktor Kozeny). Although it may seem ridiculous you need to probe you are him, our policy uses this to prevent people from overtaking those names to either intimidate other users or to defame them (some outlets are waiting to use "[famous name] vandalizing Wikipedia" headlines). Thanks for understanding, and if you have any question, just contact me at User talk:ReyBrujo or here. Cheers! -- ReyBrujo 20:10, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
