Speedy deletion nomination of Steve harding

Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Papeton, Colorado

edit

Hi,

I noticed your edit, which is interesting and would be a good addition, but we need to have a reliable source - have a newspaper, book, etc? - Otherwise, it's WP:OR.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:52, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please don't post to my user page. You can talk to me here.
I'll try and look for sources for you... hold on.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:23, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't know how to use this talk page, but who wrote books about Mexican coal mining immigrants to Papeton? Sorry I got riled up, but i have family who lived and died there.https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/6224/4532387_00392/113491738?backurl=https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/26791495/person/1919733080/facts/citation/5277105438/edit/recordUslabor (talk) 23:33, 8 July 2018 (UTC)USlaborReply
It was never that I didn't believe you. It's that this is an encyclopedia - so reliable sources are needed for content. I looked in newspaper articles back to the time this town existed and didn't find anything. What would a newspaper article say? "Wetbacks arriving from Mexico to work in Busy Bee mine!"
Perhaps there's something about Mexican immigrants being part of the coal mining industry in general in Colorado for Mining in Colorado Springs.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:40, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Returned my original post here

I am sorry, but you don't have a source for "Some Immigrants arrived from Mexico, fleeing the revolution there."
That doesn't mean it didn't happen. It just means we cannot prove it. Please don't readd content that you cannot prove. That is original research, which is not allowed.
I can help find something about Mexican immigrants coming to Colorado and working as miners, but not if you're going to work against me. And, there's nothing that I've found specific to Papeton.
If you live in Colorado, perhaps you could go to a library and see if there is information there.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:52, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Mixture of my original comments and responses, with the responses indented

My source is my family, grandmother, father, uncles. They were not the only Mexicans living in Papeton, US census not good enough? If no, why not.— Preceding unsigned comment added by USlabor (talkcontribs)
Because it is a primary source that doesn't cover the information that you're trying to cite. Unfortunately, it doesn't even say "Papeton" on the page. All you can prove (if you can make the connection between the page and Papeton), is that there was one family. Nothing about the revolution causing people to move to Colorado, etc.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:25, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

You can do as you please, if you're not interested in the truth then don't bother. You've not addressed the issue of the us census. That very link I sent you was the 1930 census of the section of Papeton my family lived in. Let me add that Mexicans were in Colorado before it was USA. And, there's nothing that I've found specific to Papeton. I'm sure you won't find anything, lots of articles about the white and the weathy, and the gold miners who struck it rich. Not so many about the working class This article says more about Papeton than almost anything I've found except for the oral history passed to me through my father's family.— Preceding unsigned comment added by USlabor (talkcontribs)
I am not sure what to say here. Yes, I get that there were Spanish in Colorado first and I think that there should be more about that in other pages about Colorado history. Perhaps an article to itself, as I mentioned below.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:25, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I do live in Colorado, as a matter of fact I live in Papeton.— Preceding unsigned comment added by USlabor (talkcontribs)
Excellent, if you'd like you can go to the downtown library and check out the research section (probably in the old Carnegie portion of the building) and see if you can find some sources.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:25, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

History of Colorado#European settlement

edit

I had a thought. There could be a separate article about the Spanish/Mexican influence on Colorado's history. Expanding upon the History of Colorado#European settlement and going through modern times.

What do you think about that?–CaroleHenson (talk) 20:26, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
