plans for wiki project

edit

For the Wikipedia project, I chose to edit the page called Sikhs for Justice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikhs_for_Justice. The page is problematic because it is lacking information about the history of the organization. It also does not give any information about the group in India before the ban. There is also no information about the public reaction among the Sikh people in India. The page jumps right into the social issues and politics around the organization. I think the page has a slightly negative bias toward the organization. I also think that there isn't enough information about Khalistan. I plan to adjust the first paragraph about the general knowledge of Sikhs for Justice. I think that this section needs more information about the background of the organization. There is also a part in the first paragraph where it refers to a right-wing Canadian reporter saying Pakistan has been funding the organization, but there is no other supporting information or sources confirming this. I plan to look more into this to make sure that it is accurate or edit it to be more accurate. I also want to look deeper into the effect the ban has had on Indian Sikhs. I think these changes are important because it can give a more well-rounded picture of the organization and what is going on related to it. As of now, I think that the page has a very one-sided perspective on the organization and I would like to explore more about what the organization believes rather than what outside institutions believe about the organization.
