USA Trumpet is Michael Schmidt so I guess that constitutes a close connection.TheDarkOneLives (talk) 22:44, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Be sure to read WP:3RR also. You are about to be blocked just for that, regardless of content. Though given the content you keep adding, you could also be blocked for inappropriate edits. DMacks (talk) 22:41, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a short time in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule at Notable Usenet personalities. Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. {{This Wiki "Editor" has a conflict of interest as he is anti MIKEY, and it is clear by all of the proof below that this "Editor" himself does not have a neutral point of view as he stated many things about Dr. Michael E. Schmidt that are untrue.

1. Misinformation # 1 ""Howdy" (a nickname he gave himself)" Re: This is untrue. NBC arranger and D.C.I. instructor Dan Lutz gave Dr. Michael Schmidt the nic name "Howdy" way back in 1981. Note: Michael no longer uses or goes by the nick name "Howdy.

Misinformation # 2. ", or simply "MES", his posts often feature grandiose, apparently serious claims about his abilities on the trumpet, such as the ability to play higher and louder than any other trumpet player in the world. [23] These assertions have been to say the least, a point of contention among participants, many of whom are professional players. " Re: Many professional trumpet players such as Conn Selmer / Bach professional trumpet player Rich Wetzel (see Michael's www.myspace.com/thetrumpetofthelord myspace page for proof) and Calicchio artist Big Wayne Rinehardt(Also see Michael's myspace page for proof)and the Little Big Band (Ibid)and Tim Hughes (Ibid)have publicly endorsed Michael's loud and high note trumpet playing. See: http://www.myspace.com/thetrumpetofthelord and http://www.trumpetofthelord.com

He claims to have a doctorate and several other degrees, none in music.

  1. 3.

Michael does not "claim" to have a doctorate degree, Michael DOES have a Doctorate degree in Biblical Education from Gwinnett - Hall Baptist College and Seminary (http://www.gwinnetthallbc.com)

Despite this, his posts are notorious for frequent misspellings and malapropisms which, combined with other earmarks of his posts such as claims of acquaintance with notable persons, inspired a parody post titled "One Fine Day...Around 3 PM", considered a classic in the aforementioned groups.[24] Posted by someone spoofing one of MES's usernames, it depicts a fictional phone call to the offices of Jerome Callet, a noted brass teacher and instrument maker who MES claimed to know.

  1. 4 it is well known that Michael is a customer of Jerome Callet, and that Jerry knows Michael very well. http://www.super-chops.com

Seems incredulous to state someone "knows you very well" when you've never even actually met them, as per your statement on the Notable Usenet Personalities talk page. They don't know anything about your honesty, character - unless you've bounced a check or have been really annoying over the phone or the like - etc. You may be a customer but they don't "know you very well".TheDarkOneLives (talk) 12:12, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

MES's actual known musical performance background includes participation in drum & bugle corps in the late 1970s to early '80's (he never marched a complete season with an open class corps)

  1. 5

False Here is a picture that Michael did march an entire season with an open class D.C.I. drum and bugle corps. This picture was taken at the last official D.C.I. open class show of the 1980 season, Michael is on the third row, all the way to your right: http://www.corpsreps.com The editor gave misinformation and lied as this picture proves that

It shows a picture. How does it "prove" anything that you suggest it proves including that the photo is in fact of MES? Compare that photo to what MES looks like today. Is there any resemblance?TheDarkOneLives (talk) 12:12, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Michael marched a complete D.C.I. with an open class drum and bugle corps with the Chattahoochee Sound Association in 1980.

"Editor" - No: Chattahoochee Sound Association was a D.C.I. class A-60 corps. Usatrumpet (talk) 03:35, 25 August 2008 (UTC)If Chattahoochee Sound Association were to be a drum and bugle corps today they would be called an open class drum and bugle corps.Usatrumpet (talk) 03:35, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The term open class is being used in the context of when Chattahoochee Sound Association existed. You claiming it was an open class corps is, at best, misleading. rlrr (talk) 11:41, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
http://drumcorpswiki.com/DCI_World_Class suggests that there's potential for naming confusion about "Open" in the period discussed around 1980
Andy Dingley (talk) 13:58, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
From 1975 until 1992 there was no confusion about "Open Class". rlrr (talk) 14:17, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Editor" also failed to mention that Michael also marched in two D.C.I. World class drum and bugle corps, North Star in 1981, and Spirit of Atlanta in 1982.

Michael E. Schmidt joined North Star well after the season started. He quit Spirit of Atlanta before finals. Therefore, he never marched a complete season. rlrr (talk) 14:22, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Michael has the founding director who also taught visual and brass for one open class drum and bugle corps (Heritage in 1993 and 1994) For proof go here http://drumcorpswiki.com/Heritage_drum_and_bugle_corps, was a brass tech (contra tech) and cook for one world class drum and bugle corps ( Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008) For proof see 2008 photo # 3091 http://www.pioneer-corps.organd was once a brass tech and arranger for one Sr. (D.C.A) drum and bugle corps (Presidents 2004). http://www.prescorps.org Michael has also taught brass and marching to over 30 high school marching bands.http://www.brookwoodband.com Michael, Craig Boteler, D.C.I.hall of famer Freddy Martin and Michael's father Eddie founded the Brookwood High School Band Association, one of the most successful band associations in the United States. http://www.spiritdrumcorps.org

So how does a stub wikipedia article that you appear to have written under a sockpuppet "prove" anything?TheDarkOneLives (talk) 23:35, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Heritage never competed, therefore calling it an an open class corps is misleading. rlrr (talk) 14:22, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Michael was a member and soloist for the Florida Bible College Brass Ensemble (1982-1984) http://www.floridabiblecollege.com, was a soloist for the Liberty University Spirit of the Mountain Marching Band. Michael was a soloist for the late Dr. Jerry Falwell at Thomas Road Church who has opened revivals as a trumpet soloist for Dr. Charles Hughes and Dr. Jerry Falwell of Liberty University. Michael has opened for many famous Christian artists such as Young Harmony and the Speer Family. Michael has played back up trumpet for D.C. Talk star Michael Tait, and Dove award winner Squire Parsons. Michael has served as a Chaperon (1998), and Chaplain (1998-1999) for the Spirit of America National Honor Band under the direction of Dr. George Naff who once said:

" the National Honor Band sounds beautiful, as great as I can ever remember them sounding " after Michael had helped rehearse them.

and a small, insignificant musical ministry.

  1. 6

Untrue, The Trumpet of the Lord Ministry is not small and insignificant. Michael and the Trumpet of the Lord Ministries has made local and regional news regional hundreds of times. Michael is the founding President , and is the trumpet soloist for the Trumpet of the Lord Ministry, the # 3 Christian trumpet ministry

9in # of concerts) of all times. The Trumpet of the Lord and Michael have had a top 40 southern gospel hit with Vision Quest Music Groups Randy Stalls. Michael Schmidt and the Trumpet of the Lord have played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Hawks, for the Veterans Patriot Task Force for Lt. Clebe McClary of the USMC, and for the President of the Southern Baptist Convention (Dr. James Meritt in 1998). Michael's Myspace page has had almost 30,000 page views, and over 20,000 music plays (Almost as much as Phil Driscoll who has aprox 24,000, and more than popular high note trumpeter Rich Wetzel. Michael's myspace page music currently has approximately 6 times more plays than one of Michael's trumpet playing critics Jeff Helgesen's (personal- individual) myspace page.

Interesting that there are no photos or video supporting any of these claims on the Trumpet Of The Lord site or anywhere else. And what does this Jeff Helgesen have to do with your background?TheDarkOneLives (talk) 23:35, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Michael E. Schmidt is also known for making self serving edits to Wikipedia articles.

The person who edited that is also the author of all of the misrepresentations clarified above.}}

Revert wars and talk: pages

edit

You might find it useful to read Wikipedia:Edit war

From your comments above, I can understand why you might feel aggrieved. However repeated reverts and edit warring are not the way to fix this. In particular, as you've just noticed, repeated reversions will merely get you blocked. I note that you didn't use {{unblock}} to request unblocking for your comment above, but even if you had done so, complaining about the content is unlikely to have reversed what's a legit block. You were blocked for breaking the WP:3RR policy, not for your views about the content! It's about behaviour, not censorship. I suggest you read the link I suggested and follow its advice as to alternative ways to proceed. Andy Dingley (talk) 09:47, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're headed for another block if you keep breaking formatting (inserting curly-braces) and removing material that appears to be rationally supported on the talk page. DMacks (talk) 21:48, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
