Okay, I'm posting my first message here on my discussion board. Feel free to post here if you have something to say to me.--UrsaLinguaBWD (talk) 08:03, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Numbers?

edit

The automotive templates are split up by decades (e.g. 1990's) and each decade is further split up into individual years. This makes is easier to determine the exact years of production for an automobile. --Denimmonkey (talk) 05:59, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of cities

edit

You said: "This article was not included in List of Cities in Texas, so I added it there. Someone from the Texas Wikiproject might want to check on other cities that may be omitted from the list.UrsaLinguaBWD (talk) 20:35, 13 December 2007 (UTC)" - It's been almost a year, but, anyway, Bacliff isn't a city. It's a census-designated place. We have a separate list for that. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:19, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Domino's Pizza

edit

Hi there, Ursula. I saw your template message on the Domino's Pizza article and comment on the Talk page, and I've responded with some ideas about fixing that section. Some, but not all, of that section is mine. I also have a potential conflict of interest on that subject as I work with Domino's, which is all the more reason why I would like to help improve the page. Hope to get your input, but also as I see you are often away, I'll tug on sleeves of other editors if I don't hear from you soon. Cheers, NMS Bill (talk) 19:49, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Texan English

edit

Great job on your first article! I've removed the tag as it appears you've added plenty of references. As far as suggestions go, I have noticed a few things you could do.

  1. The capitalization of the terms in the 'Lexicon' section is not consistant. I'd recommend making them all first letter capitalized.
  2. You can remove the repeated links in the References section.
  3. Pure urls are generally avoided in references. Try using the template {{Cite web}} to generate a citation for each website.
  4. After that, the only real thing you can do is expand the article.

Good luck! —outoffocus 03:44, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've formatted the two websites using CiteWeb; I though it might help to give some examples.—outoffocus 04:35, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Domino's Pizza

edit

Hi there Ursa, thanks for the note, I'm glad you liked the work I did. The User:NMS Bill account was my way of differentiating edits made to help improve articles about clients of my employer (with consensus) from those made of my own personal interest. As of last month I'm no longer working there, so I closed up the account, and I plan to steer clear of those articles for awhile to come, to avoid any possible confusion. However, there is someone else you should reach out to, and that is User:Jeff Bedford. He works there still, and while he is fairly new to Wikipedia, he understands and respects the rules here very well. He's probably quite busy, but I'm sure he would be happy to weigh in. Hope that helps! Cheers, WWB (talk) 18:01, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ursa, Jeff Bedford here. I'd like to introduce myself, as I understand that you have worked with User:NMS Bill (now retired) in the recent past -- specifically to provide helpful feedback on our collective effort to bring the Domino's Pizza article up to Wikipedia's own standards. As mentioned above, I'll be especially mindful of my approach in proposing future edits, always placing Wikipedia's interests, policies and guidelines ahead of my own. I see that you shared more recent thoughts on the Domino's Pizza talk page, and I'd like to continue that conversation with you. I'll be following up on the article talk page within the next day; just wanted to stop by here to connect with you before doing so! Best, Jeff Bedford (talk) 15:44, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Barrett, thanks for following up with me earlier this week. I have not implemented any edits on the Domino's Pizza article as of yet, since I wanted to first introduce myself to others involved on the article Talk page (which I've now done). As a first step, I've replied to your recent suggestions and thoughts on the Domino's Pizza Talk page. Looking forward to collaborating with you on this article. Cheers, Jeff Bedford (talk) 16:57, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:GameStick controller front view.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:GameStick controller front view.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Replaceable fair use File:GameStick Controller.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:GameStick Controller.png. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 23:53, 2 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
