There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 19:34, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

My main contributions for this account will be to fix the Market Technicians Association to update the company name as it has changed to CMT Association. I see this to be a very valuable contribution as the information listed is incorrect. I also would like to update some of the general information and numbers on the website as some of it is outdated. I need to be unblocked so that I can fix this information, not for advertising purposes but only so that it is correctly listed with the right company name.

Accept reason:

Thanks, Just Chilling. @Tyler wood: Do you understand WP:COI? Do you understand that "COI editing is strongly discouraged" in Wikipedia? Do you agree not to edit the page about your association directly, but to make WP:edit requests? Vanjagenije (talk) 17:41, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
When I said "make WP:edit requests", I meant once you are unblocked. Please, answer my questions. Vanjagenije (talk) 17:13, 15 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
I am connected to the CMT Association. I understand that COI editing is not encouraged and I will not edit the page about the association directly. If unblocked, I would resubmit an edit request for someone else to make the needed changes to update the article. Thank you for your patience. I find Wikipedia very confusing and difficult to understand. Tyler wood 13:34, 15 August 2017 (ETZ)
OK. Edit request should be placed on the article talk page (like Talk:CMT_Association) together with wp:reliable sources to verify requested change. Be sire to follow WP:COI. Vanjagenije (talk) 20:26, 15 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
I will make the requested changes on the couple pages that relate to CMT Association and have someone else verify and make the edits. Thank you for your help. Tyler wood (talk) 8:54, 16 August 2017 (ETZ)

Some Proposed Changes to CMT Association page

edit

I would like to request edits to the CMT Association page at the link below: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CMT_Association#cite_note-1

Here are the proposed edits to simply update the information:

• Add CMT logo to the page (Reference: https://cmtassociation.org/)

• The word “organization” is spelled wrong in first paragraph of “History” section.

• In the second paragraph of the “History” section, change “work in second half of the 1980s.” to “work in the second half of the 1980s.”

• In the first paragraph of the both the “Mission” and “Members” sections, change “80 countries” to “85 countries”. (Reference: https://cmtassociation.org/technical-analysis/international-investment-professionals-seek-new-tactics-in-battle-for-assets/)

• In the “Members” section, change “Over 9,000 individuals” to “Nearly 5,000 investment professionals”. (Reference: https://cmtassociation.org/technical-analysis/international-investment-professionals-seek-new-tactics-in-battle-for-assets/)

• In the “Members” section, get rid of the link in the middle of the paragraph as it does not link to anything.

• In the “Members” section, change the last couple sentences to “Craig W. Johnson is the current president. Past presidents include Ralph Acampora, Phil Roth, Charles Comer, Gail M. Dudack, Mike Epstein, Bruce M. Kamich, David Krell (co-founder and CEO of the International Securities Exchange), Jordan Kotick, Fred Meissner, Robert Prechter, Alan R. Shaw, Larry Berman, and David Keller.” (Reference: https://cmtassociation.org/association/leadership/)
