St Leonards school page

edit

Hi Tsinha, welcome to Wikipedia. I keep an eye on the Mayfield and Five Ashes page and saw that you recently created the St Leonards-Mayfield School page. Some of it reads very much like an advert or promotional page for the school. If you are acting in an official capacity for the school, you should be sure to read the Wikipedia conflict of interest guidelines and our rules on advertising. In addition, you may wish to read the school's FAQ which tries to answer the sorts of questions schools and teachers have regarding Wikipedia, and also the organization's FAQ which explains in further detail what official representatives of companies and organizations can and cannot do on Wikipedia. If you are editing in an official capacity for the school, you should create a user page and declare that on there.

I apologise if you aren't acting in that capacity, but we do have a lot of problems with people attempting to place advertising or promotional material on Wikipedia. A lot of the material on the page for the school will shortly be removed as it is not encyclopedic. Wikipedia has a rather dismissive term for some of the content on the page: schoolcruft. —Tom Morris (talk) 19:41, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
