May 2020 edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Tom Hunt (politician), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Adding content such as However, residents of the town soon realised their new MP was, in fact, a farce. to a WP:BLP is inappropriate. Continue your discussion on Talk:Tom Hunt (politician) before readding the sourced content (without that snark in the lead). Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hi Schazjmd. I have not talked with an editor before so I have left a message on your page - I am not sure of the exact procedure! Anyway, the content you refer to "However, residents of the town..." etc. was not posted by me. I made the entry beginning "In January 2020..." etc. My entry is well sourced - the first article I quoted from was written by Tom Hunt himself in the East Anglian Daily Times, a well known local paper with a wide circulation in Ipswich. There was a considerable debate about the article which resulted in comments from ISCRE and the Police and Crime Commissioner for the County. Why is this inappropriate or not constructive? To me, the entry seems entirely within Wiki guidelines. Look forward to getting your reply.Trueblueipswich (talk) 18:49, 30 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I replied to you on my Talk page, but also went back through the Tom Hunt (politician) history to investigate it more. You added a well-referenced paragraph on an incident; an IP later came in and added the farce comment. That's when the reverts began. Anyway, I read through your paragraph and the sources you cited, and have added it back to the article (with some format fixes). Schazjmd (talk) 19:12, 30 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
