Neighbourhoods of Zagreb
editHello, I see you've moved a few pages about the neighbourhoods of Zagreb. I applaud your WP:BOLDness, but you are wrong. The symbol in question was not a hyphen, but a spaced en-dash, which is meant to connect phrases in English. The two phrases that form the title are "Gornji Grad" and "Medveščak" – connecting them with a hyphen with no spaces implies that "Gornji" ("upper") is an adjective to "Grad-Medveščak", which would make no sense. - Hi! English is not my native language ;-) I just tried to correct the spaces between the hyphen/dash. Now I've learned that phrases should be separated with a dash. But there still shouldn’t be any space around the dash, right? The correct spelling in English would be Gornji Grad–Medveščak? --Tromber (talk) 13:25, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- The en-dash can be used with spaces ( – ) in the place of the longer em-dash (—). However, I double-checked MOS:DASH and you're right, as they write "Minneapolis–Saint Paul" with the en-dash where I'd expect an em-dash. Daß Wölf (talk) 14:31, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
