Trendiki

A tag has been placed on Trendiki, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Validity of Trendiki versus Myspace

Thank you for your message on my talk page. Whilst I could go into great detail, there are numerous pages on wikipedia which cover the various criteria which, it is generally accepted, should be fulfilled before a page is considered suitable for an entry into the encyclopaedia. These include : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:N on notability and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Spam on spam and (in this particular instance) the idea that you shouldn't write your own article about yourself, your own website, or your own achievements . In summary, if your page is so notable as to merit inclusion, someone else, sooner or later, will write an entry about it.

Incidentally, it is very helpful if you could "sign" the comments that you leave on talk pages - the easiest way to do this is to leave four tildes (~) at the end of your comment - the site will then automatically translate that into your signature. I have posted below a helpful reminder on this.

Signing comments on talk pages

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. Thank you for your message regarding notability. As I said in my earlier post (above), I don't want to go into great detail - I pointed you in the direction of WP:Spam and WP:Notability, and whilst you have cited the latter at me, I see that you haven't cited the former. Had your original article been written in the manner of Playahead, ie. from a neutral point of view, it is more likely that the page would not have been nominated for speedy deletion. That said, I see that the page has been deleted, which means an administrator agreed with my having flagged it in the first place which is, I guess, the end of the matter. Thank you for your subsequent message - apologies if I presumed that you hadn't read certain of the policies I'd flagged. If you were to re-write the article, provided you maintain a neutral point of view, I don't think that you would have the same issues as you had with this iteration. To answer your original question, I suppose, the key difference between your creation on Trendiki, and the entry on myspace was that the latter was written from a neutral point of view.

Incidentally, I think that it would help assure other editors of your impartiality if you weren't creating articles about websites that shared your username - doing so is a bit of a flag, in my view, that the author of the page may not be entirely impartial.
