Firstly (as far as I know) there is a law in the USA forbidding US-American citizens to hold any titles of royalty or nobility and secondly: He is not a subject of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (the person who knighted him). Should he later choose to become a subject of Her Majesty (ie obtain a British,Canadian, Australian...pasport) he would be able to use the title Sir. See the Irish broadcaster Terry Wogan was appointed a KBE in 1997, and since taking dual British and Irish nationality was made a substantiative member in 2005 and is now entitled to use the name "Sir Terry Wogan". --Camaeron (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 14:31, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
