editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Scott Williamson (hiker), makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. CutOffTies (talk) 22:32, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Scott Williamson (hiker). There is a Manual of Style, edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. CutOffTies (talk) 01:11, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. CutOffTies (talk) 11:23, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Scott Williamson (hiker), without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. CutOffTies (talk) 14:17, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
There is no reason to have an list of the subject's gear choice or other excessive detail. Please read what Wikipedia is not. I do thank you for no longer trying to make the font big. --CutOffTies (talk) 15:51, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- Apparently you disagree. You refuse to participate in any sort of discussion regarding this. I will bring in a third opinion so others can look at this page and decide what is best. --CutOffTies (talk) 18:26, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I do disagree, that is true *smile*. However, you mistakenly equate newest to navigating the system with refusal to participate. An illustrative example shows the complexity of thru-hiking (besides the challenge of mileage) Excessive detail would be to include multiple examples from various Williamson's hikes to show his evolution of development. - RE: Font Big - I'm slowly but surely learning the application ... Tr-browsing (talk) 19:49, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- Lol, Ok, I'll be happy to co-operate - will have to learn table inclusion as suggested in WP:INFO #3 (Excessive listing of statistics)Tr-browsing (talk) 20:45, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
- I just saw what the other editor did. I don't agree with that, as you did add some solid references. It looks like the version you reinstated is the best. Thanks. --CutOffTies (talk) 20:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

huh? Conflict of interest? Please explain. I have no connection to Williamson professionally or personally. I am not promoting any product or service in this entry. Tr-browsing (talk) 00:46, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
- The only article you've ever edited is Scott Williamson (hiker). In other cases, editing a single article is a signal that the editor is closely related to the subject of the article. It's not against policy, but we need to be super careful about such editing. —hike395 (talk) 02:22, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
www.pctthruhiker.com was previously a site owned and operated by Williamson. He let the ownership of the domain lapse. The new owners have taken down Williamson's old site and apparently the new site has no connection to Williamson or PCT thru-hiking. (Tr-browsing (talk) 01:00, 28 December 2011 (UTC))
Apparently messed up footnotes. 2006 yo-yo reference - it has many alternative references but will just use CBS reference. Career hiking totals originally listed on Williamson's original site (The Hiker Experience page). Looking for alternative ... however ... Career hiking totals in terms of years is simple math (=2011-1992). Career hiking totals are just in terms of PCT completions are just summations of what is listed in timeline (yo-yo's counting as 2 thru-hike completions: south-to-north, then north-to-south). Career hiking totals in terms of mileage also can be calculated mathematically (using info in timeline and PCT = 2655 miles, CDT = 3100 miles, AT= 2181 miles) The information to support is already there.
