User talk:Tony Sidaway/Jimbo's request

Just because someone doesn't have a userbox stating their POV doesn't mean they won't push their POV.

The fact is, it's better that people accept their personal biases and let them be known to other editors rather than being more covert about it and making people have to eventually learn for themselves about users' personal biases:

  • Anonymous editor — Muslim, denies that Islamic terrorism exists, removes talk page comments that he doesn't agree with[1], is regularly called for vote-stacking on Islam-related articles and supporter of other users that regularly engage in blatant POV-pushing (also Muslims) like Farhansher (talk · contribs), BrandonYusufToropov (talk · contribs) and Yuber (talk · contribs).
  • Cryptic — Very anti-userboxes and pro-Kelly Martin - there are/have been userboxes for these but obviously would not use them.
  • DreamGuy — Nationalistic, found a userbox saying that American English was made up to be different "offensive" (might want to read a quote from American English by the way: "Webster's particular contribution was to ~~show that the region spoke a different dialect from Britain~~, and so he wrote a dictionary with many spellings differing from the standard. Many of these changes were initiated unilaterally by Webster")
  • Jayjg — In arbitration election was often accused in oppose votes of being a POV-pusher not suitable to be an arbitrator - election was bypassed and he was appointed ("voting evil, dictatorship good") by Jimbo anyway despite not being in the top few.
  • Kelly Martin — Removed just prior to the creation of this page[2] statements saying "I love the cabal", that an "anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election", and that Wikipedians have no rights apart from leaving.
  • Mark Sweep — Another strongly anti-userbox user who has abused his administrator privileges in deleting templates and protecting against recreation after community consensus was to speedy keep them. (Template:User freedom)
  • Netoholic — If he had an honest userbox it would probably be one saying "I hate everyone who dares edit a template I make and claim ownership of MY articles" - involved in a lot of revert wars over minor template changes (not userboxes) and has appeared on admin noticeboard frequently for harassing and personally attacking other editors who edit "his" templates
  • Sam Korn - another user who would have "I vote for deletion of all userboxes" userbox on his page if it wasn't a contradiction ;)
  • Tznkai - Colluder of Mark Sweep in abusing administrator privileges to delete templates and protecting against recreation after community consensus was to speedy keep them. (Template:User freedom) --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 14:55, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
