Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 109.158.118.185 (talk) 11:05, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

They are my comments that I am trying to delete so I don't see a problem in doing so? .Tombot10 (talk) 11:11, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I dont know how you are going to be able to delete them. Contact admin for advice and leave comments in place for now. More removals could push a 3 revert rule. Just contact addmin and they should give you the correct advice. Murry1975 (talk) 11:30, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Having looked over the edit history of the talk page in question, it looks like several different IPs and Tombot10 are trying to remove material, originally added by a different IP. It cannot be verified that you are the original contributor, and as the material has been commented upon by yet another editor, it's part of a collaboration and in my opinion it is disruptive to remove it. Flags edit

Dont know why you blanked ALL flags on Derry City, please understand players that have represented a country at any level get a flag - the one of the most recent reference of sporting nationality- those who have not been capped dont. It is the talk page, where you keep blanking claiming they are your comments.Murry1975 (talk) 12:09, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I blanked all flags because I'm not allowed to give each player the flag of their nation. I think that rule is ridiculous that if you haven't represented the country at an international level you don't get a flag because I wouldn't say that not playing football for your country renounces your nationality? Whether they have played or not that is still their nationality and I think they should receive a flag. Also I would say that all the players in that list of Derry city players have actually represented Ireland or Northern Ireland at some youth level and I have a source for at least one of those left blank.Tombot10 (talk) 12:31, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Add the refernce at the player or add in your edit summary. The problem is "their nation", players born in NI are entitled to both Irish and British citizenship. Only British citizens can play for NI, so to put a NI flag in could basically misrepresent the player. Having said that I have seen Irish flags removed from players born in ROI on this article. MOSFLAG is qouted in most cases , so if you have refernces please include them .Thanks .Murry1975 (talk) 12:45, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
