Rugby World Cup 2011

edit

Hi Tolosenc. I noticed you editing on the World Cup articles. You may not be aware but the top two teams qualify for the quarter finals, but the top three teams qualify for the 2015 world cup. Also, if NZ fail lose and fail to get a bonus point against Canada and if France win and gain a bonus point against Tonga, and provided France's point difference supercedes that of NZ, then NZ will finish second in the group. While it is unlikely to happen, we in Wikipedia can not lay down as fact that which has not yet happened. (e.g., while highly unlikely, the entire NZ teams, between now and the next game, could be found guilty of drug taking, or could all end up in hospital...whatever..we can't predict). In Group C - Ireland and Australia have qualified for 2015. However either could still finish in 3rd which would mean, although still guaranteed a place at 2015, they would not advance into the quarter finals.Mac Tíre Cowag 14:28, 25 September 2011 (UTC) Reply

WP:MOSFLAG

Flag icons may be relevant in some subject areas, where the subject actually represents that country, government, or nationality - such as military units, government officials, or national sports teams. In lists or tables, flag icons may be relevant when the nationality of different subjects is pertinent to the purpose of the list or table itself.
Words as the primary means of communication should be given greater precedent over flags and flags should not change the expected style or layout of infoboxes or list to the detriment of words.

There is no specific reason to add the flags in the prose. It simply clutters the prose. Please don't add the flags back in to UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:05, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
