Hi, Thorson~enwiki, Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, salut, privjet, nihao, anyeong haseyo, konnichiwa, hola, salaam, ciao, and hi! Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ; plus, if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). And if you have any more questions, feel free to post them on my user talk page or add {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly. Also, don't forget to visit the directory of portals where you're sure to find an interesting topic!

Additional tips

edit

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in Wikipedia:

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills or test Wiki markup, then the Sandbox is for you. On this page, you can make whatever edits you like.
  • You should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~).
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you want to customize your user page, then check out the large collection of userboxes.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.

Open tasks

Here are some open tasks that you can do.

Good luck! I hope you enjoy your stay, but be warned, it can be addictive! --Mar de Sin Speak up!

American Union

edit

I have proposed the American Union aricle you created for deletion. This is because it seems to lack any sources that proves of its existence. If you can give more citations and/or rewrite the article based on existing sources, then I will remove the tag. Thank you. Mar de Sin Speak up! 16:08, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not be so suspicious. The reason I did not want American Union on Wikipedia is because there is nothing on Google with exact name. However, there is the North American Union, which sadly has been deleted, not by me. Please request undeletion for that article and expand it so that others will know that it's a proposed idea and not a real organization (if it is a real organization-then give a link). Wikipedia does not promote censorship, but Wikipedia also does not allow hoaxes here. I'm not saying you article is a hoax, but if you do not assert the real meaning of "American/NorthAmerican Union" and do not give link(s) that deal with the exact phrase "North American Union" or "American Union", then other Wikipedia will doubt the authenticity of the article. Thank you. If you need any help, feel free to stop by my talk page. Mar de Sin Speak up! 19:11, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
