Vandalism

edit

You describe this edit as Vandalism. I strongly reccomend that you review WP:AGF and Wikipedia:Vandalism. Hipocrite - «Talk» 15:46, 28 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Call me a slave to tradition, but I wanted to put the obligatory welcome message in before I posted on this and Hipocrite beat me to it :(
He's right though, neither NPOV additions nor factually incorrect information is considered "vandalism." It would be a nice gesture if you could open discussion of why you thought that information was not appropriate for the article on the article's talk page.

I consider it plain vandalism. They clearly state the band was named after the color Prussian blue. Changing that to "substance used in gas chambers" is totally inappropriate and grossly POV vandalism. ThompsJohn 16:44, 28 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
"totally inappropriate and grossly POV"
No one's even arguing that this isn't the case (at least, not here).
"vandalism"
This is the problem. Performing a "rv vandalism" is an invocation of the the Wikipedia:Vandalism policy, and needs to be used correctly. From What vandalism is not:
NPOV Violations
The neutral point of view is a difficult policy for many of us to understand, and even Wikipedia veterans occasionally accidentally introduce material which is non-ideal from an NPOV perspective. Indeed, we are all blinded by our beliefs to a greater or lesser extent. While regrettable, this is not vandalism. See also: NPOV dispute.
Mistakes
Sometimes, users will insert content into an article that is not necessarily accurate, in the belief that it is. By doing so in good faith, they are trying to contribute to the encyclopedia and improve it. If you believe that there is inaccurate information in an article, ensure that it is, and/or discuss its factuality with the user who has submitted it.
So, based on the above and the policy of Assuming Good Faith, we're simply asking you to do the same things you are doing, in a slightly different way, with a bit more discussion.

AfD nomination of Prussian Blue (duo)

edit

An editor has nominated Prussian Blue (duo), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Prussian Blue (duo) (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 02:00, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
