SAINT ALPHONSA

SAINT ALPHONSA OF BHARANANGANAM

Blessed Alphonsa will be the first Indian in the history to be canonised in the Catholic Church, when Pope Benedict the XVI will officially anoint her with the sainthood on 12 October 2008. This is a moment OF accomplishment for the young Syro-Malabar Church which is head quartered at Kerala in the Southern part of India .

To commemorate this proud occasion, the Angamaly unit of the Cherupushpa Mission League is organising an All Kerala Alphonsa Quiz on 02 October 2008. The questions will be from the Book of Genesis chapter 1 to 26, Letter to the Ephesus, History of the Church and also the Life and related events of Blessed Alphonsa. Cash prizes start from Rs.5000 and ever rolling trophies and other sponsored gifts will be given to the winners. All the participants will be paid the actual travelling expenses on production of valid proof.
