Soka University

Thanks for putting in all the work --its great that the article has been expanded. However, we must be careful to not have it read too much like a brochure for the school (otherwise it would have a POV problem). The model for the best university articles can be found here. Please feel free to continue your work and try and bring it to the top of university articles in Wikipedia. I asked you to please discuss this in the article's talk page before readding it, which did you did not do. My contention is that such a section is not necessary nor is it of any benefit to readers. For one, it is quite lengthy and detailed and detracts from the rest of the article, making it an undue emphasis. Moreover, featured university articles do not have a similar section. I'm sorry if you put a lot of work into researching this, but you need to give more valid rationales for keeping it. BrokenSphere^{Msg me} 00:44, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Annals of Scholarship

The article Annals of Scholarship has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged for notability since almost 4 years. Possibly moribund: last issue published in 2010. No independent sources, not indexed in any selective database. Given current inactivity, no sources to be expected any time soon either. Does not meet WP:NJournals of WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I wonder if this deletion can be undone, so that we can see what the article was like? Apparently it was too soon to say that the journal is moribund. It is currently publishing 3 times a year. Here is the web page of the journal, with current and back issues. Here is the faculty page of the editor: Marie-Rose Logan. She seems to be a respected scholar, who has been editing the journal for a long time.

This site has information about the journal:

• It's indexed in the Modern Language Association Database.
• It is listed in catalogs in the US, France, Germany, and worldwide.
• etc.

Unfortunately I'm not affiliated with a university, so I can't check how often it's cited.
