Speedy deletion of Image:Lyotomachida wikipedia.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on Image:Lyotomachida wikipedia.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Duplicate image

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:Image:Lyotomachida wikipedia.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ford MF 16:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyvio?

edit

Also, I have real concerns about the copyright status of either one of these uploaded images of Lyoto Machida. The status you listed was that you were the creator or author of the photos, which clearly have copyright "Martin McNeil/Viking Photography" printed on them, so a little more elaboration in the image description is needed I think. Are you in fact Martin McNeil? Ford MF 16:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Further to the comments by Ford MF, I would like to highlight our Image use policy which states that images released under free licences shouldn't contain digital watermarking as is the case with the Lyoto Machida photograph. "User-created images may not be watermarked, distorted, have any credits in the image itself or anything else that would hamper their free use." Adambro 18:20, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
