The Starfish Project

edit

Hi there, yes no probs. I had previously linked the McGuire Programme at the bottom of the page and didn't feel it needed it twice, that was the only reason.

Hi there. Can I ask why you reversed the edit linking to the McGuire Programme? I think it is helpful for people reading that section to be able to visit the corresponding McGuire Programme page. What is your thinking? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Heatley (talkcontribs) 22:02, 25 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Starfish Project

I note you made an edit to the Starfish Project page. If you are alleging that Anne Blight "stole" from McGuire you should be aware that McGuire was not the first to use costal berating - it was the Del Ferro institute in Amsterdam. I trust you will amend the McGuire page to state this given you seem keen on making sure proper attribution is given. Plus, it's "taken" and not "took".

Where in any edits was it mentioned she stole anything? The harsh reality is that AB DID take techniques from McGuire. McGuire use Del Ferro, Sheehan, Van Riper methods but apparently, according to you, Anne did it all alone. Misleading and untruthful. Shame on you. I won't be editing again as it's pointless fixing lies.

Your edit was removed because it is unverified. It be fine to say that AB was previously involved with the McGuire Programme, but that's about as far as the factual point goes.

I forgot that Anne has her army of willing lackeys. Nothing I said was untrue. I do have some old photographs of her at a BSA meeting with her McGuire team. I'll look then out so I can reference it. And by the way, please look at your use of a semi colon, shocking.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Nicola Sturgeon has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:38, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Thegaffer23. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to McGuire programme, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Thegaffer23. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Thegaffer23|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Cordless Larry (talk) 10:02, 28 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Cordless Larry,

I'm not sure if I'm replying to this properly. I am not a paid advocate of the McGuire Programme and I have no financial stake in the organisation so I'm not sure what to do. I think it was fair to try and link the course to the UKs leading charity?

Best Wishes,
