Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Firstly, check that you aren't a sockpuppet by reading Sock puppetry. If you are a sock puppet as defined there, then give up now.

If you aren't, then you can do several things to defend yourself. Ask you accuser, User:Jeff5102, why he thinks you are a sockpuppet. You can defend yourself at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Awliya, in the section headed Comments by accused parties. There is a link here to some advice about defending yourself. Read this page carefully and put forward your defence calmly and politely, and you should be safe. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 09:29, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. I am quite unsure where to proceed, should I then just wait? The Well Wisher (talk) 09:47, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

That's probably the best idea. The investigation doesn't seem to be particularly against you, so wait for Jeff to reply. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 10:02, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alright then, I'll wait it out. The Well Wisher (talk) 10:24, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

In all honest I am very confused about what to do now --The Well Wisher (talk) 11:48, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, in times of an edit war on an article, one user is banned, and starts to use sock puppets. At this time, a new user pops up, and restores the article into a version that looks like the version the sock puppetteer preferred. That was what you did on the Zakir Naik-article, and that causes quite some suspicions on you.Jeff5102 (talk) 13:15, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Is it not then possible that another person could have come around and preferred merging the two together? Furthermore, I now ask the admins to determine my digital information or whatever is needed to establish my identity.-The Well Wisher (talk) 13:33, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

All right. Good luck.Jeff5102 (talk) 13:34, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Stardust. Can you please check my IP against Awliya's? I want this over with. -The Well Wisher (talk) 14:32, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, I do not have the CheckUser tool which is needed to verify your IP adress. However, you can find a list of users who do at Special:ListUsers/checkuser, and I'm sure any one of those users would be happy to verify your identity and end the matter. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 16:47, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi Stardust. I requested an admin to use Checkuser, but I was blocked even before my request for an IP check. I am not Awliya as Ari continues to preach to others. I do not know why he's bent on proving my identity as another when I'm not. My plea is honest and sincere. If I am Awliya then our IP addresses should no doubt check up with one another. Now that I can no longer communicate with an admin may I please ask you to request an admin to check my digital information? I apologize for the inconvenience. -The Well Wisher (talk) 05:39, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Please confirm if this is possible. I can only sit here and refresh this page anxiously. -The Well Wisher (talk) 06:01, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Very well. How long will this take? -The Well Wisher (talk) 09:54, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

You should have received a notice when you tried to edit with instructions on how to request an unblock. Since you apparently didn't it, I'll place the block notice that contains the unblock requesting instructions inside it.

If this is how you treat fellow Wikipedians Kww I can only say that you're the most disrespectful personality after Ari that I've met in the few days I've been an editing member. I can see now that when power struggles occur someone is always banned or banished from editing. So be it, I do not wish to edit Wikipedia or be a member anymore. I've asked for a fair trial but the people I asked for help didn't come to my aid. Since I cannot prove my identity to you, let me say just this; my curses be on you and everyone else that indicted me of sock-puppetry. You blocked me on suspicion not fact. Good luck on your future admin duties. -The Well Wisher (talk) 10:18, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for block evasion. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I continue to argue that I did not do anything wrong and maintain my innocence. This is wrong without even verifying my identity. I ask an Admin to check my digital information to verify my identity. I do not know user 'Awliya'. Therefore I ask to be checked of my identity.

Decline reason:

Checkuser verified block evasion. --jpgordon::==( o ) 16:41, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
