Eddaido It is not much of a reasoning, just what Wikipedia policy says:

"Articles on peers should start with the peer's full name and highest title(s) in bold"

"Unlike in the article title, when a peer holds one or more other peerages of the same rank as his most senior peerage, they should all be used in the opening, with a connecting "and" if appropriate"

Well, the reason I listed them all out there is because I thought it was extraordinary that someone like that should be doing the (money-making) things he did and I am sure that all the recent visitors to the grounds of his house would think it weird too. I am trying to make a point. Have I made it to you?

Eddaido Not wishing to be disrespectful here, but the quote you included (which is from WP:PEER, by the way) fully supports my point and not yours, so I presume that you didn't really understand what it says, if you think that it actually supports your point.

This means that, as his more senior title is Earl of Shrewsbury, his only others titles of the SAME rank are Earl of Waterford and Earl Talbot and these are the ones which should be included in the opening, and not the others. That was the subject of my edit...

Also, I'm not sure I get the spirit of your above statement on money-making things and the grounds of his house... Care to elaborate?

Plus, please do accept my challenge. Find me another article on a holder of multiple peerages whose non-senior titles are listed in the opening. You won't find any, and that's because what I'm saying IS standard Wikipedia policy and practice.--The Traditionalist (talk) 14:09, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
