Generic Terms? Or D&D Terms?

Just reading your re-draft of the list and couldn't help but notice that your list seems to be very D&D-centric (take 20, critical success, etc) yet it appears as if the list should be more generic. You may want to consider some kind of classification for those terms which rarely step outside of D&D. Enigmatical 22:57, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Most of the D&D-centric terms are listed under "System-specific terms -> d20" :-) Additionally, many many systems use critical successes and failures (however, they may call them by another name, but the mechanic is practically identical). After looking at this draft version versus the original, I have a slight preference toward the original version. An article called "Role Playing Game Terms" sounds like I should expect to see a glossary of terms. Each term in the alphabetized list could have a category indicator after it, such as "Skills (character term): learned capabilities, such as spoken languages, horse riding or computer hacking." HOWEVER, lists of definitions aren't really appropriate for an encyclopedia, so the original prose version is better in this regard. I would suggest keeping the original in prose form, but perhaps break it up into different more logical sections. Amatulic 17:34, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
