Vulnerable to Edit Wars Warming

It looks like you are being set up for an edit wars charge over the "terrorist" edits on the Sea Shepherd page. If you let me handle the next one or two reverts of that vandalism, it will keep you on this side of the rules. Just a suggestion. I will check the entry several times over the next few days.76.27.193.128 (talk) 20:36, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Well the consensus is against adding terrorism to the infobox as per the talkpage, so adding it is then vandalism (ie 3RR exempt), but if you want to watch the article, go for it.--Terrillja talk 20:41, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately, being right and the other guy being wrong is not an issue, and is not a defense for violating the 3-revert rule - it does not (and should not) depend on a determination of who is "right" or "wrong."76.27.193.128 (talk) 21:59, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
It's not a matter of right and wrong, it's a matter of consensus. If consensus is that it should be there and it keeps getting removed, that is vandalism. If consensus is that it shouldn't be there, then adding it is vandalism. --Terrillja talk 00:15, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
If I may interject here, as per WP:VAN adding material against consensus is not vandalism. It can be edit warring, disruptive editing, failure to get the point, or other problematic behaviors, but it's still an effort to improve the encyclopedia (even if from a viewpoint against consensus) and thus not vandalism.
Please note I am not making any comment about the specific edits, just discussing the nature of vandalism. Good luck! Dayewalker (talk) 00:31, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, "For example, adding a controversial personal opinion to an article once is not vandalism; reinserting it despite multiple warnings is.", so the first edits by 24.xx I removed and warned them about POV[1]. After they kept trying to push their POV, then you enter the realm of vandalism, and I gave them an NPOV3[2]. If you look at their user contribs, they have been pushing this POV for a long time, and have been given plenty of warnings about it. --Terrillja talk 00:53, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Speedy Deletion: Wp/ni

Sorry if I added a wrong page. I was trying to create a new test wiki on Wikimedia Incubator. I had no idea what I was doing; their explanations are very esoteric. I don't know how to create a test wiki, I do not know which ISO 639 codes are valid, and I do not know how to use them. Once again, sorry if it affected Wikipedia. Thanks. -BlueCaper (talk) 16:03, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem, I have never used the incubator (never heard of it), if you want to test, you can create a user sandbox, like I have: user:terrillja/sandbox. --Terrillja talk 16:07, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
I just recently heard of it, too. I will give a link to the Main Page:
[3]
Incubator is used to test and propose new editions of existing Wikimedia projects in certain languages. The sandbox can not create pages, as I was trying to make a test wiki page. I succeeded in making a page for sure, but I do not know if something was established the right or wrong way. -BlueCaper (talk) 00:09, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Your sock page is transcluding to RFCU

I am unsure why, but you have a subpage User:Terrillja/socklist which is transcluding onto the CAT:RFCU page. Could you check and stop the transclusion please? I couldn't find the source of it. Thanks, JodyB talk 02:30, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

I just changed it to a wikilink, hopefully it's fixed now. Sorry for the problems! --Terrillja talk 02:35, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Jirhalang

Hello Terrillja. I notice that Jirhalang has been automatically tagged for speedy deletion. My mistake. I had written a redirect, but then erased it in order to look up all instances of "Jirhalang" on the wiki (which I could have done with the "Search function," of course, but I'm a bit absent-minded, you see). Anyway, I've now re-inserted the redirect to a new article called Jirgalang, so there should be no problem. Keep up the good work! --Madalibi (talk) 07:08, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

oh, no problem, sorry about the warning. --Terrillja talk 07:11, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem at all! Thank you, Madalibi (talk) 04:31, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

URMC spammer

Better to tag 'em; thus it becomes clear that this is not merely one editor's opinion, but consensus between at least the two of us. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:24, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Something you might be interested in knowing....

You know that really pesky bug on the ACC tool? Well, I thought you might like to see this: https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/ACC-36

r1920 is currently live on the tool.

Merry Christmas

  Merry Christmas to you!
Have a very merry Christmas, and a great new year! This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove and hopefully this note has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Merry Christmas, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. That sickly sweet wine...

... see this diff [4]. Our friend is a grandson of the winemaker. I like that a whole lot better than a SEO company - much easier to AGF. I've just read the talk page and looked at the history a little deeper - this really is an ongoing problem. To solve this once and for all: How's about we either 1) scrap ALL references to any individual winemaker or 2) include a list of notable (covered in independent sources) ice wine makers. Rich needs COI explained to him gently, the others need a talk page, policy-based consensus agreement about how to deal with companies (and company editors). I'm happy to help out with any of these solutions - looks like you need a few more eyes on this. Or I can go back to minding my own damn business :) - your call. Cheers, Paxse (talk) 10:45, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

I'll take care of it, I know that they aren't making it up, since I have personally visited the winery, however I will need to work with them on their issues with the article, and how to properly add their input on the article without coming off as overly spammy. Thanks for the heads up though, and if I need a 3rd party, I will msg you on IRC. --Terrillja talk 18:19, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
No problem, over to you, good luck! Paxse (talk) 16:49, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for helping me find out how to create a new article. I’m going to get started as soon as I gather some more information about the article I want to create. --Shadow212121 (talk) 19:10, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

User 193.122.47.146

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that this user keeps vandalizing talk pages with only partly comprehensible raves about German domestic politics, in German. His edits are annoying, have usually no connection to the topic and are in no way "good faith" edits. Well, just wanted to let you know. -- megA (talk) 21:23, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for cleaning up after me. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:42, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem, I was just about to warn them, you beat me to it!--Terrillja talk 06:45, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Re:Help

Perhaps I wasn't that clear (which I probably wasnt't), but I was looking to see if there is a way to view articles that are in both of any two categories? I simply provided those two categories as examples. Thanks, ErikTheBikeMan (talk) 15:52, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh, like using some sort of a join type function. To be honest I have absolutely no idea if that is possible. Sorry! --Terrillja talk 15:54, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
That's cool. ErikTheBikeMan (talk) 19:24, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
