Hello Terillja.

I have worked with Jim (Administrator) to make a number of edits to the page that was removed.

I hope it is now more in line with the spirit of Wikipedia.

If you have any further comments to improve the page I certainly welcome them... It's my first one :)

Also, I am not sure what the process is for re-submitting it in the public domain, and was hoping you could help.

Much appreciated, Jack

PRODding

Hi, if an article, such as Parker St, doesn't meet any of the more serious criteria for speedy deletion, it's usually better to leave it for a few hours or even a day or 2 before putting a CSD or PROD tag on it to give the author a chance to work on it rather than scaring them off with hasty deletion tags. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:30, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

As it's deleted, I can't see it now, but typically before I PROD, I research it some, so it's not like I'm blindly tagging when there is a good chance of being notable. --Terrillja talk 02:13, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Fight Festival

FYI, I removed your speedy tag on Fight Festival; I don't know if the subject is sufficiently notable to justify retention but I thought we shouldn't speedy such a well-developed article without a discussion.[1]

The article's creator is still building the article with some mentoring from Paralympiakos, an expert on mixed martial arts; see our discussion at User talk:Paralympiakos#User:Mountaineer1976. Let's see how this goes; if there's still a notability problem in a few weeks or months, we should then consider an AfD.

As a general rule, if I encounter a problematic article that someone has invested so much time in, I prefer to tag it identifying the problems that need resolution as opposed to immediately deleting it.

Thanks for your vigilance in keeping an eye out for shaky articles! --A. B. (talkcontribs) 12:38, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Fair enough, I'll keep an eye on the article to see if it is improved. FWIW, I see similar articles all the time that fall under WP:GARAGEBAND. Lots of effort on their part to create it, but jamming out in your mom's garage and making a long article doesn't make them notable either.--Terrillja talk 15:44, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Terrillja, regarding this notice to Mountaineer1976: while not questioning the accuracy of the warning, I'd like to point out that this editor has already been hit with a bunch of standard messages, his English language skills are not great, and I think a less WP:BITEy approach is really needed here. Would you please consider spending some time explaining in a non-threatening way, before he just gives up on Wikipedia completely? EdChem (talk) 17:14, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
If it was a line or two, yes, but that was the second bulk copyright violation on that article but that was a huge chunk of text. You can feel free to explain wikipedia's copyright policy in depth if you feel like it, but he does need to realize that he can't be doing that, and given that he got a number of warnings not notability and kept creating articles, a message of "Hey, stop it" would be unlikely to make him stop and think based on past evidence.--Terrillja talk 17:50, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

OK :)--ArmedRadar2307 (talk) 12:55, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I am apologize for my bad english. My addition to "Fight Festival" article is the rules of the fight. And it was copied from their official site. And i can not write rules by myself. The rules confirmed by organization's authority. It is not infringement of copyright. I can not write the rules in any modified form. And in the article a link to the their site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mountaineer1976 (talkcontribs) 07:09, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
