Speedy deletion of Independent pictures edit

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The critical part of the deletion is that it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable unfortunately we can't take every persons word about it. The other article you mentioned seems to list all the films with which they were involved, however the article I deleted contained little context stating why it was notable. Not every subdivision of Warner Brothers is notable, and if an article is to stay on wikipedia it needs to note why that subjec is particularly notable. Apologies for not being more specific, I housekeep a lot of speedy delete tagged articles. Does that help? SGGH speak! 23:45, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Assuming they are notable films in themselves, then yes it would help. I suggest reading this guide may help you. Also, if you work for the company you will need to read WP:AUTO as well. I appreciate it may seema bit hostile on our part when an article by a new user is deleted so quickly, but I hope you can appreciate... we get a lot of new articles. The recent changes log records about a 1000 edits a minute or something rediculous. SGGH speak! 23:50, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh yes, I also suggest placing {{under construction}} at the top of your article while you work on it, this will prevent any deletion tag appearing while you are working on it. SGGH speak! 23:51, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good luck with it, I hope you can make an article that stays. SGGH speak! 09:31, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually, it's up for CSD again on the grounds of lack of an assertion of notability. You might want to check WP:COI --Tagishsimon (talk) 00:26, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: Plastic lumber edit

Of course, what you would so is remove the "redirect" that fill out a dimimbaguation page. I would suggest, however, you open it up for discussion on the talk page of one of the articles (not the redirect one) before you do it, to gain concensus. SGGH speak! 13:15, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
