Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Your account appears to exist only to add links to rocklibrary.com to Wikipedia. Regardless of the quality of that source, your promotion of a single web site violates our spam guidelines. It would be helpful if you backed off from adding this link- if you're certain that it offers content that is needed, you could suggest it on the talk page of a relevant article, and other editors can decide if they agree. -FisherQueen (Talk) 20:55, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Eric Clapton. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Thank you. -FisherQueen (Talk) 21:00, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Rock & Roll Library

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Rock & Roll Library, by Isotope23, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Rock & Roll Library seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Rock & Roll Library, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Rock & Roll Library itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:49, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rock & Roll Library

edit

Yep, I can tell you why I nominated it for deletion, which hopefully will help you understand what information would be helpful to establish that an article on this topic should exist. There is a guideline for the notability of a company or organization at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Specifically what I was looking at was the section "Primary criterion". I didn't see any coverage in reliable 3rd party sources. By that I mean newspaper stories specifically about the Rock & Roll Library (not just stories where it is mentioned but is not the subject of the article), reliable websites (not blogs) covering the Library, etc. Generally speaking, articles subjects should be noted elsewhere before they have articles here. If these 3rd party sources exist and I just missed them, I can help you restore the article once these sources are provided. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.--Isotope23 13:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Give me a bit of time to look through the sources.--Isotope23 16:24, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
The problem I see here is that the first source is a brief mention in regards to a lesson plan apparently put together by R&RL; the text isn't specifically about the Library itself. The next 2 sources are a high school newspaper, which isn't generally going to be seen as a reliable source and the stories are about the song lesson contests, not about the Rock and Roll Library. The last is a directory listing, but it is at least about the Rock & Roll Library. I'd consider it a good supporting source. We need multiple sources though. Are you aware of any other news articles that were written specifically about the Rock and Roll Library?--Isotope23 16:31, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:RRL Logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:RRL Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 22:49, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rock & Roll Library

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rock & Roll Library requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. SITH (talk) 16:45, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
