The photos you added to the article regarding Wilmon W. Blackmar edit
Hi. I noticed that you just added two images to the article I've been working on regarding Wilmon Blackmar. I actually saw these images online when I was conducting my research, and made the decision not to use them because it was not clear that either of the photos are in the public domain. The first, a carte de visite of Blackmar, comes from a website which carries the following copyright notice: "The information may NEVER be published, copied, sold or used in ANY commercial venture (including by sites that offer nothing but LINKS to other people's work), or by any business, without the knowledge & permission of Linda Cunningham Fluharty and/or the person who contributed the information." While that carte de visite appears to have been taken by the creator of that website from the Journal of the Thirty-Ninth National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic Denver, Colorado September 7th and 8th 1905, that website does not make it clear whether or not the photo is in the public domain or still under copyright. (Generally things of this date aren't still in the public domain in the United States, but I've come across G.A.R. photos from this era which have had their copyright renewed by the National G.A.R.)
The second, a carte de visite of Blackmar, is also taken from that same website with that same copyright/permissions statement (shown above). In addition, that website specifically states that this second carte de visite is a "Photo from the collection of David L. Aeberli".
Were you able to obtain permissions to use either of these photos from either Linda Cunningham Fluharty or David Aerberli before posting to Wikimedia Commons and to the Wikipedia article about Blackmar (or to obtain permission from the Grand Army of the Republic's national office for the first photo)? If so, I'd appreciate it if you could please share the photo permissions information with me so that I have it for my files in case either of these photos are disputed. If you did not obtain permission to post these photos on Wikipedia before doing so, then I would appreciate it if you would undo the changes you made to the Blackmar article.
