Hello. I placed the NPOV tag back on the Call of the West article, as it is my view that the article as it currently exists is in violation of Wikipedia's neutrality policy. Specifically, it is full of song analyses that seem also to be in violation of the No original research policy. Unless you can cite other sources that make the same claims about these songs that you do, they cannot stay. It is not the place of a Wikipedia article to extrapolate the meaning of songs, unless an independent, 3rd-party source (or 1st party for that matter) has done so already. So if you can cite, for instance, an interview with Stan Ridgway where he states or agrees that The lyrics for "Look at Their Way" seem to compare and contrast the behavior of unkindly, staring people, who are typically found in well-lit public places, with the curious movements of a swarm of insects scrambling across the floor in the dark, then that claim can stay when cited. Otherwise it has to be removed. The same applies for the rest of the article. If you have any questions let me know. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 03:36, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • As a side note, please take heed of the No personal attacks policy. If you disagree with what I have to say, fine. But if it gets personal, then there could be a problem. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 03:38, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Regarding your comment - "Actually, there are many published discussions of the songs on this album which I could cite." If that is the case, please do cite them. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 13:19, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:WOV-EP cover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:WOV-EP cover.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:10, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded edit

Thanks for uploading Image:1BelmondoDoesBogey.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:BelmondoDoesBogey.jpg. The copy called Image:BelmondoDoesBogey.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 09:32, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:27 Peck cropped.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:27 Peck cropped.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:52, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:265092_mickey_and_mallory.jpg edit

I have tagged Image:265092_mickey_and_mallory.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Fair use rationale for File:1Gordon-gekko.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:1Gordon-gekko.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Killiondude (talk) 08:00, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
