Hello from one of your classmates...I hope this is where we are supposed to "leave a message for a classmate."Kawasak.kid (talk) 17:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

edit

Hey Tanisha. I have added your name next to mine on the central list, I hope that's okay for you. Welcome to Wikipedia! If you're worried about "getting into trouble", don't be: if you act sensibly no-one's going to blame you for making mistakes. I'm told that you will be briefed at some point on editing basics - has this happened yet? I see that you've created your userpage (congratulations!) and you managed to message me fine, so I guess you might have. I might go ahead and add the special template for your course to your userpage after I have something to eat (I'm a few hours in front of you timewise!). It will provide you with some useful links if you get stuck. Also, do you know yet how long you've got for your Wikipedia assignment? Regards, - Jarry1250 [Who? Ahaha, I've read your course page and made a note of the relevant dates. Looking good :) - Jarry1250 [Who? Discuss.] 19:07, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
So you can edit your user page, but not do lists? Sure, what you do looks a bit this:
* [[Name of first article]]
* [[Name of second article]]
* [[Name of third article]] etc.
The asterisks at the beginning of the lines become bullet points. If you want a numbered list, use #s instead of *s. Regards, - Jarry1250 [Who? Discuss.] 22:21, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've gone ahead and turned your list, which works, into an even better list using hash symbols. I hope you don't mind. (p.s. if you want to leave a followup message on someone's talkpage, it's easier to use the [edit] link next to your old section title rather than start a new section. Use a colon before your message to indent it, like I'm doing here.) Happy editing :) - Jarry1250 [Who? Discuss.] 22:52, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Assignment?

edit

Your class listing has an entry "Write a 3-4 paragraph summary version of your article (with citations) in your sandbox * Begin working with mentor to polish short starter article and make sure it matches Wikipedia norms." Is this not due soon? Would you like some help with it? - Jarry1250 [Who? Discuss.] 18:34, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your article is off to a great start. The only suggestion I have is, when a sentence starts out with a date you need to have a comma after the date. Good luck with the rest of your article. Wikiwriter24 (talk) 18:15, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Draft article comments

edit

TS, your draft article is looking good. Since it is a U.S. Supreme Court case, please review Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Supreme Court cases for some ideas and the typical article outline for this type of case. If you need any help on the specifics, let me know. --Mike Cline (talk) 13:23, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Peer Review

It looks like your article if off to a good start. I am assuming you will be adding a little bit more information? You need add a Supreme Court Case Information Box, the template can be found here: Template:Infobox SCOTUS case/doc . I would probably go through and check punctuation, and add links to other Wikipedia articles, I intended to add some in my copy edit. You also need to add your sources at the bottom. But good work so far. Jackiewickens (talk) 17:16, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re: Question

edit

Of course I can :) Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife v. Klamath Indian Tribe <-- there you go (I'm no expect on what page name to use of legal cases so someone may change that).

Before I moved it, I gave it a quick edit which changed the appearance of the page a bit, but I didn't actually change any of the content, which I thought was all good. If you have any questions about what I changed and why, ask. I also put on an "uncategorised" tag. Has someone talked to you about categories? Now is a good time to add them, and once you've done so, anyone (including you) can remove the tag.

Now you're getting into the swing of things, this advice may be useful. Happy editing and great work so far, - Jarry1250 [Weasel? Discuss.] 20:26, 30 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Perfect. I have removed the tag for you :) - Jarry1250 [Weasel? Discuss.] 07:55, 1 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
