Bhagat Singh

edit

Your recent edit to Bhagat Singh included the edit summary "You need to learn some plain English dude; dont be putting your asinine interpretations upon rest of us." You were saying that in response to the fact that I had removed your description of Gandhi as "western educated" (sic) and that I had said that both Singh and Gandhi (not just Singh alone) were "revolutionary." Your edit summary was highly uncivil. If you disagree with me, that's fine, and go ahead and raise the issue on Talk:Bhagat Singh. But please do not refer to my edits as "asinine" and suggest that I do not know proper English. This violates Wikipedia's policies on civility and, frankly, is also just plain rude. Here is why I had reverted your edits in the first place: The fact that Gandhi was Western-educated was irrelevant in that context and American Heritage Dictionary defines "revolutionary" as "bringing about or supporting a political or social revolution," which is true of both Gandhi and Singh, as they both sought a political revolution in which the British were ousted. The key difference between the two men is that Singh was in favor of using violence to achieve that goal, whereas Gandhi was a pure pacifist. Please remember to be civil in all future discussions. Thank you. --Hnsampat 12:59, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
