Othonna

edit

Hey! So good to get a note back from you :) That's awesome that you're so interested and knowledgeable about plants, as you can see there are a ton of articles that can use the help. Photos would be awesome, it's so hard to get free ones.

Sadly, I don't do much reading about plants lately. I used to be really into herbal medicine though, and I did a lot of research on it, but that was a few years ago, and I've mostly forgotten everything by now.

I found Othonna through WP:Articles for creation, the process they started when they stopped allowing anonymous IP's to create articles. An IP submitted it, and I checked the facts and pasted it into the article space. Hence the not fitting in-ness.

Yeah, I'm wicked into head trauma! I guess I'm kind of a trauma geek in general. I rode an ambulance for a couple years, and I work in a hospital now (though really it may not be my thing, we'll see).

When you mention adding links to special terms, do you mean linking to another article in Wikipedia? To do that, you surround the name of the article with double square brackets, [[like this]]. To link to a site outside of wikipedia, you put the whole url in single square brackets, followed by a space, followed by whatever you want the link to show up as: [http://www.likethis.com like this]. Not sure if I explained that well, definitely let me know if you need further explanation on this or something else.

Agreed about WP being a good resource for basic stuff. Although, on the other hand, for high profile controversial stuff that probably gets a lot of traffic, it's likely to be fairer than other sources that only have input from a few people. I would think the more eyes on a topic, the fairer and more accurate it is. Assuming that the owners of the eyes care about the project, that is. Which is why it's good to get more editors on the more obscure areas, like Othonna! I'm psyched to hear you want to work on the plant articles and would love to help however I can. Keep in touch!
