User talk:T. Anthony/Miscellany
It was never exactly a talkpage I just never did the new userspace deal before. I hope this one gets more attention as it's full of more notable places and people than the others.--T. Anthony (talk) 01:14, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to allow this to be overly long so it can have more Africans and women as those got deleted. I might remove things that don't fit those two descriptors.--T. Anthony (talk) 12:02, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Those two were revived.--T. Anthony (talk) 16:51, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Hmm
editI removed some that had few links, but now I wonder if that was a mistake. Chōjirō was one of the few I kept that had few links and it got made. Oh well, I really don't want to go to the trouble of bringing a bunch of stuff back but maybe I'll bring a couple items back.--T. Anthony (talk) 16:51, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Expanded
editI did an expansion even though I was going to be done with that. It's not a list that gets linked too much, too diffuse perhaps, but I still am fond of it. Like to put non-North-American English-speaking world names in it or whatever missing world leaders I can find. Plus mayors, foreign-language good articles, and as implied miscellany. Did some more British recently and some SF. Enjoy to whoever cares.--T. Anthony (talk) 10:13, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- For the heck of it I might do a bit more.--T. Anthony (talk) 03:47, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Fritz Usinger hurrah!
editI've never heard of the guy, I was just adding major award-winners at some point, but I guess he's stayed red longer than just about anyone. If I went through right he only looks to be tied with a few other names I added 04:43, 3 February 2008 that are still on the list. And now his article's been made. Neat! For curiosity here's other names from that specific expansion that remain.
- Meinrad Inglin - He also looks to have been on List of Swiss people since February 14, 2003. (Also in Encyclopedia Britannica)
- Hans Schiebelhuth
As Usinger was created thanks to User:Anthrophilos, who looked to be on a Georg Büchner Prize kick, Schiebelhuth might be soon enough.--T. Anthony (talk) 04:45, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- Correction. In one form or other Charles Lemaire (explorer) has been on since December 13, 2007. Originally I had him under Charles Lemaire, but then the article on Charles Antoine Lemaire was made in 2008 so that March I changed him to Charles Lemaire (Esperantist) which linked to nothing but did differentiate. I've changed his name again as Charles Lemaire (explorer) is the guy I mean. The two above have, I think, still been on the longest without a title change.--T. Anthony (talk) 23:48, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
- And now I've learned more about eo:Charles Lemaire so took him off the main list. Apparently Lemaire was among the vicious figures in the Congo Free State's history. A book called Confronting Genocide quotes him, with regard to rubber harvesting, as saying "We shall have to cut off hands, noses, and ears" and other sources agreed. Also "In his 1891 diary, Lemaire named five of the villages he burned". Although he may have repented, and even if not villains are of historical interest, so I'll keep him on talk.--T. Anthony (talk) 06:58, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- Although not on since February 2008 Ho Dam looks to have been on since July 2, 2008 and was finally made by User:Al83tito.
Shilkhak-In-Shushinak/Shilhak-Inshushinak I looks like the only other one, besides names above, to be on since the list was given its current name.--T. Anthony (talk) 03:31, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Belated thanks to User:Whs16rs who did it in May. Hurrah!--T. Anthony (talk) 09:03, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
