Welcome edit

Welcome!

Hello, Suzystorm, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV), and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Toddst1 16:04, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Thomas Anthony edit

A tag has been placed on Thomas Anthony, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Answer: I think that this site is not an advertisement. Although there are not too many information on the net about Thomas Anthony, he is a well known musician in Hungary. He has concerts and many radio stations play his music. I do understand your concerns, but I must say that in wikipedia there are tons of articles about nobodies, who did nothing in their entire life. They are jut fake musicians (who are just created) no ones. Who cares about Brazil tv series episodes articles ? Is it right to write an article about Isaura? Is it part of culture? A thing, worth to remember? Please check all articles about “stars” like Britney Spears or Mariah Carrey, are they musicians? Artist? What instrument do they play? They don’t even know to sing. They should be in a category of... or what is the name for those who are earning money with their body? I think that if there is no place for art in an encyclopedia, than it does not worth anything. Well if you think that an artist who is not enough "famous" or "popular" but it is a true musician, does not have place on Wikipedia, than please delete this site.suzy (talk) 11:47, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please note that the above was an automatically-generated message and that very few people read your talk page. To respond to the question of notability, please go to the talk page of the article and reply there. You may want to just copy-paste your response. However, I will give you a few short notes:
  • Wikipedia does not distinguish what is and is not music. Wikipedia only cares what reliable sources consider music. If the world were to go insane and turn street noise to music, Wikipedia would be forced to agree even if it is not true.
  • The CSD as well as my talk section are about notability. While this is the English Wikipedia, you are welcome to use Hungarian references if English-language sources are not available. In the case of VUVR, this saved the Czech band from deletion (the band had reached Gold status on an album in the Czech Republic). Similarly, your best bet is to prove notability as a part of Hungarian music. If Thomas Anthony has accomplished any of the criterion of WP:BAND in Hungary (e.g. charted a hit, had an album reach Gold status, et cetera), that establishes notability. Keep that in mind.
  • Try to be objective in your edits. A page that appears too positive about a subject will never, ever survive an AfD. The people who look through AfD lists are vicious, to be honest, which is why I try to avoid opening them with fledgling articles.
Try to keep these things in mind as your search for sources to prove notability. Good luck. 83.203.179.237 (talk) 19:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Thomas Anthony meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?
