License tagging for Image:Mayian.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Mayian.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

I was looking at the picture Image:AirIndiaCabin.JPG. You have now added a source, which is great: all pictures need a source. However, when I visited the source [1] it says "Photo Copyright © Vivek Manvi, all rights reserved.". This cannot be used in Wikipedia and must be deleted, unless a special copyright release is used. Sorry. Please check, if you want to use a photograph, that it has something specifically releasing it under a free license. We can check that for you if you aren't sure. I have deleted this image. The reason that it was not allowed under Wikipedia's fair use rules was that a free equivilent could reasonably be created. J Milburn 09:33, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Air India

edit

Please do not remove cleanup tags from articles unless cleanup has actually been completed. Do not remove citation tags, as these indicate unsourced statements that need a reference. Also, please do not add advertisement-like material, as you did to the section on the airline's frequent flyer program. DB (talk) 04:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Delhi.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 11:51, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can you get some online validation

edit

First of all there is nothing known as half sikh or quarter sikh, no one else on the list has that tag. And they have also visited churches and mosques so are they muslims and christians ? Why claim someone to the faith who does not even talk/ follow your faith or acknowledge the faith of his mother/ grandmother ? And can you back your claim of them following the religion or some of it's principles by any reliable online resources ? Does the recent wedding coverage of your quarter sikh mention even one sikh rite followed for the quarter sikh ? Haphar 09:19, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removal of galleries on Air India

Removal of galleries on Air India

edit

During last week few attempts had been made to remove Gallery of Tata Airlines timetable covers, reason given behind this was galleries are not encyclopedic and Galleries are for wikicommons. They are not encyclopedic.

Notabley there is one more gallery present on the article i.e. Gallery of superseded liveries which was never altered.

If there is any logic and rationale (I couldn't find any in Gallery template page, help page, etc.) behind removal of the said gallery both galleries should be removed. On the contrary featured article like Flag of Belarus, Flag of Canada, Postage stamps of Ireland, etc contain Gallery (which means Galleries are accepted even in Featured Articles not to say about unfeatured ones).

As you have been active on this article you are invited to discuss this issue here on talk page.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mayian until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. —Justin (koavf)TCM02:05, 2 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
