August 2016 edit

Hello, I'm Utcursch. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Dada Lekhraj, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. There have been extensive discussions about this on the talk page. Please see Talk:Dada Lekhraj and WP:BRD. utcursch | talk 13:39, 22 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Dada Lekhraj. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. clpo13(talk) 17:40, 22 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, "It's wrong" is not a valid reason to make changes to article. Anyone can create an account, change the birth year to "1800" or "2000", arguing that the earlier year was "wrong". If you disagree with the outcome of the past discussions, and want to change the birth year to 1884, please start a Request for Comment. Also have a look at WP:3RR - edit warring will get you blocked sooner or later. 17:51, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Dada Lekhraj. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been undone.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges.

There are sources in the article that say 1876. There is also an extensive discussion on the talk page about the birth year. To go against the existing consensus and edit war for your preferred version is disruptive editing; please make your case on the article's talk page (not on other users' user talk pages, please) and present any additional sources you may have there. bonadea contributions talk 09:10, 23 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
