Here are some useful links for creating an article,

Please see Your first article.

  1. Ensure that you have an account and you are logged in. If you don't have an account, create one
  2. Make sure the subject is notable enough to have their own article
  3. Find references
  4. Make sure no article on the subject exists under a different title by typing the subject into the search box to the left (←) and clicking 'Search'
  5. Type the page name in the search box to the left (←) and click 'Go'
  6. Click 'Create this page'
  7. Create the article, including all your references, making sure you adhere to the Manual of Style and our article layout guidelines
  8. Be aware that Wikipedia deletes thousands of new articles for failing to adhere to our policies and guidelines. New articles by new users are at extra risk of deletion, due to new users' unfamiliarity with our rules. Consider gaining experience by editing existing articles before attempting to create new ones

What did you mean by existing wikiproject? Have you already written the article on another wiki? SpinningSpark 19:52, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sparkygirl: You requested help in posting a wiki project to Wikipedia from one of your classes at Arizona State University. To what Spinningspark has said, I thought I would add a few more specifics:
Links to external projects can be added by posting the URL inside square brackets thus: [http://www.arizona.edu/], which appears like this: [1]. The name of the link can be added by inserting a space after the URL and typing the title inside the closing bracket, thus: University of Arizona. Comments are added by typing outside the brackets. That would be the format for adding an external link, for example. However, it is important to consider whether the link meets the requirements of the policy, which, are stated as follows: "Wikipedia articles may include links to web pages outside Wikipedia. Such pages could contain further research that is accurate and on-topic." In other words, links that add useful research to the article are fine, links that are promotional in nature are not permitted. Hope this helps. And for school and uni projects generally, see WP:SUP. – ukexpat (talk) 22:44, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
