I'm sorry if you thought my editing was brutal; however, there are a lot of things that Wikipedia is not. It is not for making people laugh (it is an encyclopedia - the Encyclopædia Britannica isn't exactly a giggle-fest, is it?). It is not for things made up one day, it is not a personal website, nor is it a democracy. Wikipedia is good because if something is wrong, anyone can fix it. I apologise if I inadvertently removed information that was accurate (about the PGA golf), but the fact that it was surrounded by mentions of cocaine, gay spaniards and King Charles not visiting a pub there made me doubt it's veracity.

I see you have re-added the patently false information - I am going to remove it (again), and it will likely continue to be removed by editors as often as it is added. I will leave the PGA segment, however. If you have a source for this information, it would be great if you could add it. There is help available for that. If there's anything I can help you with, you can leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! --Kateshortforbob 17:50, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added some more information and refs (based on Google searching) to the article. Thanks for re-writing/adding the King Charles information. If you have any sources for the Golf or the "Pink Village" information, would you be able to add them to the article? Also, would you be able to explain or clarify this line: "otherwise the Ryder Cup could have been held on what would have been the site of the first battle of the English Civil War."? I don't know a lot about the English Civil War and I'm a bit confused! Thanks! --Kateshortforbob 13:39, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
PS. Re your message on my talk page: it is sometimes difficult to differentiate affectionate good humour from animosity on the Internet: I'm going to assume your comment regarding gay people was the former.
