Twitter Files edit

I think the Twitter Files page is part of a long continuum of censorship that goes back to the printing press. That technology immediately spawned governments' apparatus of censorship, licensing, etc. I am afraid the Twitter Files page gets swept up on the political issues--as I am sure Milton found with the Areopagitica. Because the sources that are deemed reliable are not covering the Twitter files it is difficult to find citations that meet Wikipedia standards. Thank you for helping shine some light away from the political to the factual. Kmccook (talk) 17:57, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome; it is especially important to use reliable sources for this article since the Files are presumably being released in bad faith to fit a certain agenda Musk wants to push. As time passes and the Files begin to gel, the reliable sources should report on the information presented and it will be easier to write the article.
Also, if I may add, I notice you write out your webpage references in plain text. While that doesn't necessarily hurt anything, there is a proper syntax to use that streamlines the citing process, which can be viewed here: Template:Cite webSomeNeatGiraffes (talk) 20:02, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

August 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Picard's Facepalm. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Linus Media Group, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Citing a source which cites twitter as the source is citing twitter by proxy and does not meet WP:RS. See WP:RSPTWITTER. re: LTT & Dexerto edit

Hi there SomeNearGiraffes. I was going to undo your edit on Linus Media Group before Picard's Facepalm beat me to the punch. I did want to note that there are multiple previous discussions where consensus exists that Dexerto generally is not a reliable source. (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) I recommend waiting until a reliable source reports on the topic, especially allegations of this nature. - Skipple 16:20, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I apologize, I should have researched the source before trying to cite it in the article. I suppose I am also violating WP:BREAKING since this is pretty new information and should have waited for better sources to come along. — SomeNeatGiraffes (talk) 16:46, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
