Move edit

I suppose you can be right about the name issue, but such unilateral moves are really frowned upon. And when it comes on top of some other edits, what am I supposed to think? Adding the Kurdish name before the Turkish and Armenian doesn't make sense - when I see such edits, I am also obliged to take other edits with a grain of salt.

I suppose it can be moved some time later, but now that you have raised it in the talk page, let's wait for a while to see what others think. Cheers! Baristarim 07:19, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, except the fact that the population in Van has historically been Armenian, not Kurdish. By the way, have another look at Van cat now that it became a disambiguation page- that's what I was trying to explain to you. There is a reason why those pages are titled as such - I watched hours of debates between animal specialists about it :) At the end of the day it could be titled Van cat, but that would create greater confusion with the Turkish Van - that's why it is at Van Kedisi. But there is a dab now at the Van cat, therefore any uninformed reader won't be lost. As for the order between Kurdish and Armenian name, I frankly couldn't give two hoots either way - I am not going to pretend that I do just to be PC :)) But the name is there, so it should be ok. I have always thought that the alternate names do not serve any purpose except satisfying people's nationalist egos (I would say the same thing for names in any language, so it is nothing personal or anything). When I go read a China related article, I am not interested in learning its Chinese name for example. If I did, I would simply get some audio tapes and books to learn Chinese or something. lol. Anyways... Baristarim 07:45, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Kurdistan edit

Hi, thanks for responding to my email, I have started on the project. But I am a little busy with collage and haven’t got enough time to work on it yet. I will start working on the project very soon about a week to two weeks from today. I have not told the other guys yet about the project page, I want to get some things done before I do that. If you would like your more than welcome to join the project and help me work on the different areas of the project. --D.Kurdistani 04:20, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
