Perdana College

edit

I am responding here to your question at WT:Identifying reliable sources#Perdana College because that page is for discussing how to improve that article. The place to ask about whether a particular source is considered reliable is WP:RSN. However, as a new user you have a more fundamental question, and a better place to start would be to click "Help" in the sidebar which goes to a page including a link to "Ask a question" which has some good suggestions. Some info on writing an article is at WP:FIRST.

Your specific question concerns whether the school's website is a reliable resource to write an article on Perdana College of Malaysia. The answer is that it is reliable for simple factual things (location, number of students, etc.), but it is not reliable for anything promotional or that makes comparisons ("achieves better results than X"). I am watching this talk page and if you want you can reply here to ask more. If you create the article, or a draft, you could let me know on my talk page if you like, and I will have a look.

Actually, I see that you have created Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Perdana College of Malaysia. That page probably needs more work before it is suitable for an article. Find an article on a similar college and use it as a guide (however, many small colleges have very promotional articles; you should not copy that technique because it will eventually be removed when someone gets around to cleaning the article). Just stick to a factual description of the college without an attempt to say how great it is. Johnuniq (talk) 08:50, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Resubmit

I have been told that the draft article can be edited in its current location and you should paste the following at the top of the article when ready to submit it again:

{{subst:AFC submission/submit}}

I see that you have edited the page and have changed the template so perhaps that is sufficient. However, I'm not sure that the draft is yet ready (did you see the comments that I put on my talk page, in reply to you?). Johnuniq (talk) 08:41, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have made significant improvements to this article and attempted to format it in a way that mirrors UCSI University's wikipedia page. Is there other things I should do?
