Speedy deletion of MCUI

edit

A tag has been placed on MCUI requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. March 2008

edit

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Stephen McKeever. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. JD554 (talk) 10:17, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have nominated Stephen McKeever, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stephen McKeever. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Questions

edit

Your article about yourself Stephen McKeever might survive the nomination for deletion. You can help by answering two questions: Are you a professional or an amateur? Have you been racing in country-wide championships or in local championships? Whatever the answers if you can provide references to articles in newpapers or magazines about you, those will help meet Wikipedia's requirements. Sbowers3 (talk) 19:34, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay, you've answered my questions - at the Help desk. (It would have been simpler if you just answered here or at my talk page.) Can you find any newspaper articles, or any web sites of any sort to verify that you are a professional and that your races are national, not local. The existing references say "clubman" championship but that word doesn't mean much to some of us. Sbowers3 (talk) 14:29, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
