Blocked edit

I have blocked this as a disruptive single purpose account. Guy (Help!) 19:54, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oxford Round Table There was a discussion of deleting the ORT entry and I contributed to it, making a point that had not been made before. I do not see anything disruptive in this. I did not edit the main ORT entry, and I did not interfere with anyone else's comments. I would not be disruptive. Please unblock me. Thanks.--Slintfan (talk) 20:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

You need to use the {{unblock}} template to get hold of an uninvolved administrator to review this. The whole series of blocks is being discussed here. I will notify the people there that you have requested an unblock. Please be patient. Carcharoth (talk) 07:29, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I already sent an email to the admin JgZ Guy with the full unblock request template completed. The template also included my IP address, which I didn't want to put on a public page. I have received no other response or reply. As an academic whose contribution to the ORT discussion was far from disruptive, I was surprised by my blocking. --Slintfan (talk) 15:23, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough -- that's the admin's decision. I don't see that it justifies blocking good faith contributors to discussions. This experience has made me more suspicious of Wikipedia than I was previously. --Slintfan (talk) 18:04, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have now been unblocked per Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Drstones. Unblock performed by User:Viridae. Oh behalf of the community, I apologies for this unfortunate situation. Outside comments are always welcome here on Wikipedia, and we hope you will continue to contribute. -- Ned Scott 03:48, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
