Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia by creating the page Steve Kolowich. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

I am afraid that, rather ironically, the fact that you stipulate in your article that its creation is designed to enhance your image disqualifies the article from retention in our encyclopedia.--Anthony.bradbury 18:56, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Disruption edit

Hi Skolowich,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I've just finished reading your interesting column in The Bowdoin Orient, "How I became famous (or: Why I love Wikipedia)". You make some good points about celebrities in the media and some equally interesting points about Wikipedia. However, the fact that you desire to "exploit [Wikipedia] for the sake of self-promotion" is in obvious violation of several of our policies including, but hardly limited to, WP:DISRUPT and WP:VAND. I hope that you will use your new account for productive editing, but if your sole purpose is self-promotion then you will soon be blocked from editing. If you want to learn more about contributing productively to this collaborative project, check out Wikipedia:Introduction.

I hope this all makes sense. Canderson7 (talk) 15:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

No harm done. I'm glad to hear that your experiments have lent you increased insight into Wikipedia's comprehensive quality control system and equally glad that they will not continue. I hope to see you editing productively in the future. Best wishes, Canderson7 (talk) 02:55, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
