I saw your question to Rockpocket and I did some searching. This is the best I could find. Sorry it's not much. I suspect that if the mouse is not feeding babies you will not be able to see any nipples (much like on a dog). If you CAN see nipples it is probably feeding it’s young. - Hi. I'm sorry in the delay in my reply. I was actually in vivarium doing some research experiments on mouse suckling!. As S.dedalus says, they can be quite difficult to see. However, the female mouse has 10 nipples arranged in this pattern. The hair around them will often by a little lighter and the 4 at the left-hand side (in the picture) are the largest and most visible. A male does not have any nipples that are visible, so if you can see anything then it is a female. Hope that helps. Rockpocket 01:02, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Nitrogenous stuff edit
Free stuff that is nitrogenous includes urine. Faeces is also potentially free and often used as a fertiliser, and contains various minerals. I have used cow and sheep manure myself. But be careful of disease! If you put these in your tank, make sure there is plenty of light and carbon dioxide and oxygen for the algae to grow. You do not want anaerobic fermentation to occur. - You can use ammonia as a cleaning product, but if it is too strong it will kill plants. It is too strong straight out of the bottle. The same applies to dog excreta, full strength it kills plants, but diluted can be a fertilizer. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:58, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
