how to create a new page edit

Hi there Can you help?

I'm a fan/occasional user of Wikipedia. I would like to create a new page on my area of specialty (an alternative healing technique). I found the technique mentioned in an Wikipedia index but there is no content about it yes. I'm happy to provide some.

The Wikipedia project seems quite intimidating to the new user. I don't really have the time to master it, and I'm unlikely to ever contribute anything else other than this 1 page. So I'm wondering what's the best way to go about it? Can I simply type up some content and pass it on to the editorial people to process?

cheers Simon —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Simon Magic (talkcontribs).

Hi! That's great that you want to create a page about that, alternative healing techniques are pretty interesting.
Wikipedia can be a bit intimidating, but it's pretty easy to get used to. You could type up the page and leave it on a suppage off your userpage- for instance, at User:Simon Magic/SUBPAGE NAME, and then I might be able to put it into an article if you don't want to do so yourself.
However if you do- and I encourage you to- create the page yourself, and you don't want to look through the relevant policy pages, just keep in mind to use a formal, neutral, encyclopedic tone and it should be quite good. Otherwise, you can skim through Wikipedia:Your first article.
Again, welcome to Wikipedia, and I hope I see you around! Cheers- CattleGirl talk | e@ 05:05, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
