If you are reading this, consider adding your own statement to Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2005/Candidate statements. You might make a good arbitrator. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Simon Chartres (talkcontribs) 05:12, November 26, 2005 (UTC)

It is likely that you are a sockpuppet, but what I am most concerned about is your edit here. Care to explain? — BRIAN0918 • 2005-11-26 13:51

According to Wikipedia talk:Arbitration committee, Kelly Martin became a (temporary) member of the current arbitration committee when the majority of the other arbitration committee members chose her. That is a self-electing cabal, and I wondered what Kelly Martin's feeling about her legitimacy was. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Simon Chartres (talkcontribs) 05:56, November 26, 2005 (UTC)

Endorsements and disendorsements

edit

Simon - you are clearly a sockpuppet, but I'm going to assume that you haven't heard the news. There are to be no endorsements or disendorsements for the 2005 arbitration committee election. I have deleted the page you created. If you recreate it, I will block you. Raul654 14:35, 26 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Where does it say that? How is that democratic? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Simon Chartres (talkcontribs) 06:47, November 26, 2005 (UTC)

Jimbo Wales expressed clear opposition of such a page, after the mess it made last year. --Merovingian 14:48, 26 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Jimbo Wales also complained about it last year. Jimbo Wales also tried to appoint a cabal instead of having this year's election. Jimbo Wales is "just another editor", he says so himself. His opinion is NOT consensus. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Simon Chartres (talkcontribs) 06:51, November 26, 2005 (UTC)

  • His opinion is respected more than that of someone hiding behind a sockpuppet to further his self-interests. — BRIAN0918 • 2005-11-26 14:53
  • He is also the founder of Wikipedia, and is looked up to as a person with at least some experience. --Merovingian 14:54, 26 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hitler is ultimately responsible for the creation of Israel (admittedly despite his own wishes). But that doesn't make him someone who should be looked up to by the Israelis. Simon Godwin Chartres 14:57, 26 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • That's an extremely ignorant and arbitrary thing to say. Please refrain from such nonsense. --Merovingian 14:59, 26 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
    • Actually, it's not arbitrary at all. People wishing to promote their own views often go to the extremes, which invariably lead to Hitler references. Because the genocide of 11 million people is almost as significant as stating your opinion on Wikipedia, apparently. — BRIAN0918 • 2005-11-27 00:07
